Enchong Dee admits that he’s dating a fellow Kapamilya star
After months of keeping mum about his love life, Enchong Dee finally confirmed that he’s dating a fellow Kapamilya star. But he still refused to disclose the identity of the special girl in his life for fear that showbiz intrigues might ruin the happiness they have right now. “Nagflo-float [ang love life ko] pero uunahan ko na kayo kasi kung tatanungin niyo kung sino, hindi ko siyempre sasabihin, pero masaya ako ngayon. Taga-showbiz siya and Kapamilya siyempre. Siguro masayado ko nabuhos yung sarili ko sa trabaho na minsan kapag nababakante ka, parang ang lungkot mo naman na mag-isa ka lang ‘di ba? Ngayon ko lang na-realize na there’s always time for everything,” said Enchong who was officially launched as a new Jollibee endorser at the Great Float Fair in Trinoma Mall last March 3.
Although there were persistent rumors that he’s dating Kim Chiu, Enchong denied that she’s the one who’s keeping him inspired nowadays. “Malapit kaming magkaibigan ni Kim. Lumalabas kami minsan, pero as friends. Sabi ko nga napakaswerte ko naman talaga dahil bibihira na lang kami magkita ni Kim, bibihira na lang kaming lumabas, kapag nakikita pa, nai-issue pa, kahit grupo kami. So uunahan ko na wala talaga. We’re very good friends. Oo, dati may admiration [ako para sa kanya], kasi ‘di ba sabi ko nga, tanungin mo kahit sinong lalaki kung may gusto sila kay Kim, lahat yun sasabihin may admiration so I’m just one of them.”
Enchong further explained that he had to open up a bit about his love life to clear the names of all the girls who are romantically linked to him including Bianca Manalo and Erich Gonzales. “Wala, parati na lang siya (Bianca), kawawa naman. Kasi parang nadadawit si Kim, nadadawit si Erich, parang ang daming nadadawit. Para hindi sila maisama [kailangan kong sabihin na merong iba]. Para kumbaga may sariling buhay sila, ‘wag na natin silang guluhin. Huwag na ihalo yung kay Enchong. Sabi ko nga sa mga fans ko, hindi naman namin ever sinabi ni Erich na we’re together. We’re very good friends and we always support each other.”
The 21-year-old was aware though that it’s only a matter of time before the media gets hold of the identity of his special someone—which is why he’s also extra careful when they go to public places together. “Siguro naman [maipapakilala ko din siya sa inyo kasi] napakaliit nitong industriya para hindi mo maispotan kung sino kasama nung isa. Tsaka lumalabas-labas kami minsan, pero siyempre [masyadong bulgar] para mas tahimik at mas maprotektahan yung private life namin.”
As for the status of their relationship, Enchong said that they’re not yet an official couple although they’ve been getting to know each other since last year. “Ay hindi pa kami pero last year pa yung masasabi kong na-realize ko na gusto ko siya.”
