Some people couldn’t help but notice that Enchong Dee has been very visible on TV while Sam Milby has yet to do another teleserye. During the press con at the Jollibee Great Float Fair last March 3, Enchong refuted rumors that Sam feels insecure about him because of the nonstop projects coming his way. “Si Sam Milby? Si Sam Milby nandito o, tapos nandito lang ako (indicating that Sam’s claim to fame is higher than his accomplishments so far). Wala naman. Sometimes life is like a wheel (Sam). Pero hindi naman [siguro totoo na nai-insecure siya]. Si Sam kasi ang daming personal achievements. I don’t think pwede kami ma-compare sa isa’t isa. Pero nakaka-flatter na napapansin din ni Sam kahit papaano.”
Enchong claimed that there’s no tension between him and Sam, especially since they see each other on ASAP on a regular basis. “We’re good friends kasi yung dressing room namin sa ASAP, nandito ako sa dulo, siya yung nasa opposite, so nakikita ko sa siya palagi every Sunday.” The young actor was also quick to dismiss other people’s observations that he has become more in demand than Sam these days. “Wala. Tsaka sabi ko nga dahil may sari-sarili kaming project dito sa ABS-CBN, mahirap kapag tumitingin ka pa sa ibang tao, kasi minsan dun pumapasok yung insecurity, yung pagkukulang mo sa sarili. Tignan mo na lang kung gaano ka ka-blessed.”

The movie “Sa ‘Yo Lamang” by Star Cinema ABS-CBN Film Productions got 11 nominations (but if you count the list, it’s just 10), including Best Motion Picture-Drama and Best Direction for Laurice Guillen. The Entertainment Press Society, Inc. (Enpress) will officially open this year’s awards season with the staging of the 8th Golden Screen Awards (GSA) slated on April 2, 2011 at Teatrino at the Promenade in Greenhills, San Juan City, Metro Manila. AFTER ‘Katorse’, ‘Tanging Yaman’ and ‘Magkaribal’, ABS is bringing back the tandem of Erich Gonzales and Enchong Dee in their remake of Thalia’s “Maria la Del Barrio,” a big hit when ABS showed it almost 10 years ago. Erich will play the lead character Maria Hernandez while Enchong will be her leading man, Luis Fernando.
“I didn’t see it noong unang ipalabas,” says Erich. “But I researched on the Internet and read that it’s one of the best and most popular telenovelas Mexico ever did kaya kahit big blessing ito, nakaka-pressure pa rin, so we promise to do our best para mapag-hit din ito sa atin.”
