Enchong Dee recovers from dengue

Young actor Enchong Dee is on the road to recovery after suffering from dengue.

Dee, one of the stars of Star Cinema’s upcoming film “Sa ‘Yo Lamang,” is still confined at Cardinal Santos Medical Center where he was rushed due to high fever.

“Recovering pa din. Pero kanina (August 19), ‘yong last platelet count bumagsak pa ng another 10,000 counts but not significant,” Dee told “Showbiz News Ngayon”.

Dee, a swimmer, shared that it was last Sunday when he fell ill. On his second night at the hospital, the doctors confirmed that he suffered anew from dengue.

“Sunday morning pagkagising ko okay pa ako. Nag-i-Internet pa ako. Tapos papunta na ako ng ASAP. ‘Yon bigla na akong nag-chill. Tapos parang hinang hina na ako tapos pinauwi na ako. Pagkatapos sabi nila pahinga muna ako. Nung 4 p.m. may pictorial pa ako. Sabi ko parang hindi ko na kaya kasi masyado ng mabigat ang ulo ko. Tapos masakit na din ‘yong joints ko. Tapos noon kinansel na din nila ang pictorial at saka dubbing,” Dee said.

He added: “So nagpa-confine na ako. ‘Yon nga the seond night ko dito sa ospital saka lang nila nalaman na dengue. ‘Yong first time ko ironically same day sa last year as this year’s. It was August 15 last year (habang) ginagawa ko ang ‘Katorse’, tapos nayon August 15 naman this year,” Dee said.

Dee also added that since he was confined, his friends already visited him like one of the “Magkaribal” lead stars Bea Alonzo, who is also romantically linked to him.
