Robi Domingo says all’s well inside Gigger Boys camp
Ex-Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition runner-up Robi Domingo says that there’s no rivalry going on between the Gigger Boys.
Robi together with AJ Perez and Sam Concepcion were chosen by Star Cinema to topbill the “Braso” episode of its upcoming horror film, Cinco.
But while the three managed to clinch the exciting project, their fellow Gigger Boys groupmates—Enchong Dee, Arron Villaflor, Dino Imperial, and Chris Gutierrez—are not included in the episode’s cast.
Director Frasco Mortiz said during a press conference last June 30 at Proud Mary Café Diner on Tomas Morato, Quezon City, that the project was not conceptualized as a Gigger Boys movie and that the story and script requires only a small cast.
The neophyte movie director also wanted the characters to stand out in the eyes of the viewers.
“Isa sa mga challenge ko po talaga was, sana hindi nila makita ‘yong tatlo as Gigger Boys,” said Direk Frasco. “Sana makita nila ‘yong tatlo as themselves or as the character they portray. And feeling ko, nagawa naman po namin ‘yon.”
There is no reason for the others to feel slighted, according to Robi, since all of them have projects outside the group.
“I don’t think po they’re offended or may nagtatampo,” smiled Robi. “We’re okay po lahat sa Gigger Boys and we all support each other. I think it’s nice that management is giving us a chance to grow both as individuals and as a group.”
