Enchong Dee on Bea Alonzo: ‘Gusto namin makasama yung isa’t isa’
During the launch of the new batch of Agimat boys last March 13, Enchong Dee revealed that he would love to be paired with Bea Alonzo for his upcoming weekly series, Pepeng Kuryente. The two happen to be co-stars in Magkaribal and they have gotten closer ever since they started taping last month. “Sa ngayon puro tentative pa kung sino ang leading lady ko pero kung papipiliin nila ako, gusto ko talaga si Bea. Kasi nung nag-start kami sa Magkaribal, hindi ko akalain na ganon pala kami ka-close kasi all this time sa ASAP, hi-hello lang kami. Dahil siguro in character kami, and medyo may love triangle dun sa soap, kahit nasa waiting area kami, kami pa rin yung magkadikit,” he told ABS-CBN.com.
Aside from the fact that they have a lot of things in common, the good thing about their newfound friendship is that Bea gets to act her age whenever she’s around Enchong. “Nagkakasundo kami kasi una pareho kaming loveless, pareho kaming sawi sa pag-ibig. Hindi, joke lang. 21 years old ako tapos 22 lang din siya. Kaya nga sabi niya, ‘Ano ba ‘to nagmumukha akong matanda ‘pag kasama kita.’ Kasi nakilala natin si Bea na always mature yung roles na ginagampanan sa teleserye. So ngayon, it’s time for her to go slow naman at mas maging lighter yung approach niya sa buhay.”
Just like everyone else, Enchong really admires Bea’s undisputed dramatic prowess and body of work. But more than the chance to work with an acclaimed actress, he felt privileged that she opened up about her personal life with him. “Alam ko yung mga secrets niya and pati yung sa akin alam din niya. Yun nga ang kagandahan dun. Alam mo yung may taong kahit first time mo pa lang makilala, nag-jive na agad kayo, pero merong iba na ayaw mo rin makasama. Kami yung gusto namin makasama yung isa’t isa tapos may pagtitiwala din kami sa isa’t isa,” he explained.
When asked about the best advice that they have given each other, the young actor shared that it involves how they deal with their respective families. “Sabi niya ‘wag ko palalampasin yung isang araw na hindi humahalik sa magulang ko, tapos kung gaano sila kaimportante, kasi nakita niya na yung pamilya ko sobrang solid e. Sinabi ko naman sa kanya na minsan may good things din na darating. Kita mo yung sa kanya mas naging mature siya in handling her life kasi siya yung naging ilaw ng tahanan nila. Kumbaga parehong may pros and cons.”
Knowing that they’re both single and available, is it possible for them to take their friendship to the next level in the near future? “Hindi ko alam kasi sa ngayon friends lang kami talaga.”
