Enchong Dee plans to buy a luxury car in April
Since Enchong Dee has been fielding a lot of TV projects and endorsements lately, the 20-year-old actor shared that he can finally afford to buy either a BMW or an Audi as a huge treat to himself. “For the first time, kita mo all smiles ako ngayon mula kahapon, kasi napilit ako nila Tito Keren (Pascual, his manager) and Ate Monch (Novales, his Star Magic handler) na bumili ng something for myself. Actually, in-explain nila sa akin na, ‘Treat yourself. You’ve been working hard for three years, nagpupuyat ka at lahat lahat na.’ Hindi ko daw nae-enjoy yung pagiging binata ko. Kaya sabi nila I should buy a car for myself,” said Enchong in an interview with ABS-CBN.com last Friday, April 16.
Ever since he started in showbiz, Enchong has never indulged in expensive hobbies or gadgets unlike many celebrities. As it is, he has always been known for being tight-fisted according to his showbiz friends. “Yung first car ko was a van (Starex) na may kama pero ano yun e, it’s a need, so automatic yun. The second car (Crosswind) I bought was for my family para sa big outings namin. So this one for myself lang talaga. Hindi pa final pero ang choices ko either a BMW or an Audi. Hopefully mabili ko siya right after matapos ang taping namin ng Tanging Yaman this April. So excited na rin ako.”
Even his family is thrilled with this news, especially his older brother, AJ, who’s also saving up for a new car. “Supportive naman yung parents ko. Ever since, my parents never really hold me back from something that they think or know na hindi maganda para sa akin. Si kuya naman, siya rin yung nagsasabi sa akin na, ‘Enchong, bumili ka na, ikaw talaga umiiral na naman yung pagiging Enchong Dee kuripot mo.’ Hahaha! Sabi ko naman, ‘Worth it na ba talaga?’ Yun, nakakatuwa kasi sila talaga pinu-push nila akong maglabas talaga ng pera,” he cheerfully related.
Having a sense of security is important for Enchong as he only spends his money on things that will still be of use to him in the future. As a matter of fact, he is thinking of building a house where he could also raise his own family when the time comes. “Sana makabili ako ng bahay before 25 years old, matagal pa naman. Kasi na-inspire ako nung nakita ko yung bahay ni Kuya Echo (Jericho Rosales) parang yun na yun, nakapagpagawa siya ng dream house niya talaga. Hindi yung bibili ako, condo lang, short-lived. Dapat yung tipong ‘pag nagpagawa ako ng bahay pwede ng pampamilya para matipid. Hahaha! Pagtitipid pa rin ang inisip ko. Gusto ko three stories tapos siyempre hindi mawawala yung swimming pool. That’s where I started e,” he beamed.
