Enchong Dee sees Erich Gonzales as a very special friend

Being chosen to play a major role in ABS-CBN’s newest offering, Tanging Yaman, is a great way to start 2010 for Enchong Dee. He admits that he feels blessed yet pressured to be playing such a big role. “(I feel) very blessed kasi it’s been a while since nagkaroon ng back to back shows. We’re very thankful na kami nga ‘yung napili for Tanging Yamanlalo na pagpasok ng 2010 kami ‘yung pinakaunang soap.”

What makes the project extra special for Enchong is that he is paired with Erich Gonzales, whom he told the press as his “best friend”. Enchong reveals that he is so at ease working with Erich, even saying their partnership is probably a right combination. “Sa ngayon wala kaming ibang makitang tao na gusto namin makasama kundi kaming dalawa. Sobrang tagal na namin hinahanap kung sino yung para sa amin and andito lang pala sa harapan,” says Enchong, glancing at Erich, who was also present during the Tanging Yaman press conference.

When it comes to what the real score is between them, Enchong firmly tells the press that they are just friends and will never be crossing that line for the mean time. “Actually, natatakot ako na magkaroon ng more than best friends kasi nga andami andaming nakakagulat na bagay na nangyayari sa amin ngayon and ‘pag nahaluan ng something ‘yun baka iba yung kalabasan so mas maganda yung ngayon na kahit may gusto kaming mangyari siguro hanggang dun muna talaga.” Erich added that their career is their top priority for now. “Very focused (kami) sa work kasi once in a lifetime lang ito and hindi namin sasayangin ‘yung ganitong pagkakataon.”

Enchong and Erich reveal that they are close friends for many years now and their friendship is already founded and strengthened by trials. “About Your Love pa lang kasi ‘yung first show ko dito sa ABS-CBN nakasama ko na siya so kahit wala kaming eksena together nagkakausap kami,” Enchong says. He could hardly describe how he appreciates Erich’s company. “Meron mga ginagawa si Erich for me na parang, ‘Wow, nagagawa niya ito para sa akin, marami kasi akong mga pagkukulang, e. Andami niyang nailagay sa puwang na iyon. So, I’m really happy being with her.”

When he was asked if he plans to court Erich in the future, he said that he wants it to come naturally. “Siguro there’s a certain level, for example ‘pag nanliligaw ka, kung going out lang and just having fun being with her, pero baka kulang pa ‘yun na dahilan para maging panliligaw ‘yun. Kami kasi ni Erich ‘pag magksama kami outside na kaming dalawa lang andami naming napapag-usapan. Pero sa ngayon andami nangyayari sa amin especially now, 2010 (there are) a lot of things to expect so mas mabuti siguro na limitations muna.”
