Enchong Dee hounded by gay rumors
The former on-screen partner of Enchong Dee has dismissed rumors that the young actor is gay.
In an interview during Star Magic’s press conference, Jessy Mendiola, Dee’s co-star in the now defunct show “Boystown,” maintained that there is no truth to the rumors.
The 16-year-old actress added that “for me he is straight.”
She said: “He is really gentleman sa mga babae. Kaya siguro siya natsi-tsismis na bakla. Kasi talagang dahan dahan siya sa mga babae. Pero, for me, talagang lalaki si Enchong.”
According to Mendiola, it was not the first time that she was asked about Dee’s sexual preference. And, she said, she gives the same answer always.
“Kami nila Empress (Schuck), parang naririnig namin na bading si Enchong… [pero] gusto [niya] talaga mga babae, so, imposible talagang bading siya.”
She also disclosed that Dee, one of the lead stars of “Katorse,” was told about the rumors, but he merely laughed it off.
“’Yong mga ganoon, ginagawa niya na lang joke. He doesn’t take it seriously. At dapat lang naman kasi mabait siyang tao,” Mendiola said.
Mendiola was quick to add though that Dee never courted her, saying they are just friends.
