“Tanging Yaman”, Another Teleserye Worth Waiting on ABS-CBN!
It looks like ABS-CBN is focusing its strength on dramas for its upcoming projects. Aside from “Kung Tayo’y Magkakalayo,” the Kapamilya network is also developing “Tanging Yaman.” Both soaps are originally conceptualized by the writers ng Dos; “Tanging Yaman” may have been a title of a Star Cinema film in the past, but the TV drama is entirely different from the movie.
The cast of “Tanging Yaman” is impressive, consisting of young stars like Matt Evans, Melissa Ricks, Erich Gonzales, Enchong Dee and Ejay Falcon, and veteran celebrities like Agot Isidro, Mylene Dizon, Leo Martinez, Jodi Sta. Maria and Rowell Santiago.
Rowell Santiago shared his thoughts about doing a teleserye for the first time: “I’ve never done a teleserye before pero hindi kasi ako makatanggi sa role. Na-excite ako pati sa casting. I welcome new challenges in my life so I’m grateful na tuloy na tuloy na ito. I admit kumakapa ako ngayon. Nag-workshop ako as a refresher course sa acting. So far okay naman. Like I said I welcome challenges.”
Melissa Ricks, for her part, was ecstatic to be working with friends on the series: “I’m really excited because this is the first time I’ll be working with Erich and Enchong. Kasi [kapag] magkakasama kami puro kulitan, puro kalokohan. Kaibigan ko sila, kabarkada ko sila. We watch movies, we hang out pero now that we will be working together kailangan medyo serious na ‘di ba? So this is really something to look forward to para sa friendship namin.”
Tanging Yaman will re-unite Melissa with loveteam Matt Evans. She shared her thoughts about the reunion: “Yes, I will be working again with Matt and I am excited na may iba na rin akong mga natutunan being partnered with a different actor. Kasi you can’t be partnered with just one actor, you need to work with others aside from your ka-love team, kasi you would be stuck in the same role in the same love team then you will have the same acting ability kasi sanay ka na, e. You need to explore other opportunities para makita mo rin ‘yung versatility mo as an actress. When you work with somebody else siyempre iba yung atake niya, maiiba rin yung atake mo.”
Meanwhile, Ejay Falcon is very happy that ABS-CBN’s entrusting him again with another plum role. While Katorse is still airing and continues to gain high ratings, Ejay is already set for another project in which he will be paired again with Erich Gonzales. “Masayang masaya ako kasi may bago akong show, ‘yun yung pagsasamahan namin uli ni Erich and Enchong (Dee) and kasama namin sila Matt Evans at Melissa Ricks. Tanging Yaman ang title. Kung nagandahan ang mga tao sa Katorse, magagandahan din sila dito at maraming matututunan. Nag-start na kami mag-taping.”
Ejay also shared the sacrifices he has to make: “Mahirap kagaya ngayon medyo inaantok pa ako. Pero masaya naman ako sa ginagawa ko dati wala akong trabaho pero ngayon dala-dalawa, sobra-sobra ang sarap rin ng feeling.
