Erich Gonzales on relationship with Enchong Dee: ‘What you see is what you get’
Erich Gonzales is overwhelmed with joy as her launching teleserye Katorse is currently enjoying high ratings. At recent ABS-CBN Trade Lauch in Subic last November 19, Erich expressed her gratitude to all the viewers who made Katorse a big success. “Nagpapasalamat po ako sa lahat ng patuloy na nanonood ng Katorse. Thankful kaming lahat sa show dahil consistent top rater ang teleserye namin. Asahan niyong mas maraming pang exciting na mangyayari kay Nene sa Katorse.”
But while critics are praising Erich for her portrayal of teenage mother Nene in Katorse, fans are also raving over the sweet chemistry between her and leading man Enchong Dee. Many are speculating that real life romance is brewing between the two. “Wala pa ‘yung mga ganyang bagay sa amin ni Enchong. Basta kami masaya kami sa work, we trust each other, may respeto kami sa isa’t isa. Basta anything tungkol sa trabaho walang ilangan sa amin. What you see is what you get. Hindi naman kami nagpe-pretend na merong something more than friendship sa aming dalawa. Kung ano po ‘yung nakikita niyo, ‘yun na ‘yun.”
However, before Enchong joined the cast of Katorse, Erich had been romantically linked to the other male lead star of the teleserye, Xian Lim. Back then Xian had been vocal about his admiration for the young actress. But now, Erich revealed that she and Xian have both decided to be just friends. “Okay naman kami ni Xian. Magkaibigan kami. Masaya kaming magkatrabaho. We decided na maging magkaibigan na lang. Sobrang importante sa amin’yung work kaya dun na lang muna kami magfo-focus.”
Erich further shed light on Xian’s absence from Katorse. According to rumors, Xian was axed from the show to keep him from pursuing Erich. “Hindi po totoo ‘yun. Nasa script po talaga na magbabakasyon ‘yung character niya. Pero bumalik na siya so sa mga fans niya walang reason para malungkot.”
Erich has obviously grown into a young pretty lady. The Star Circle Quest Grand Questor has been getting lots of admirers, the latest of whom is no other than the youngest son of Kris Aquino, Baby James. “Nakakatuwa talaga si Baby James. He’s so cute. I’m so happy na pati siya kilala si Nene. Nakaka-flatter naman kung ang isang Baby James ang magkaka-crush sa akin. Kung pwedeng hintayin ko siya baka siya na lang ang maging boyfriend ko, ha ha ha!,” she joked.
This 2010, Katorse stars Erich, Enchong, and Ejay Falcon will be seen in a new teleserye Tanging Yaman. “May bago kayong aabangan sa love triangle namin nina Enchong at Ejay. Kasama kami sa bagong teleseryeng Tanging Yaman na mapapanood niyo na this 2010. Nandito rin sina Matt Evans at Melissa Ricks at iba pang veteran actors,” she shared. The 17-year-old star said she is happy to have been given by the Kapamilya network a follow project to Katorse. “Sobrang saya ko kasi after Katorse may isa pa akong teleserye na kapupulutan ng aral ng maraming tao. I’m thankful na patuloy ang pagtitiwala sa akin ng ABS-CBN.”
