Melissa Ricks is excited about working with Erich Gonzales and Enchong Dee
Melissa Ricks will star in Tanging Yaman, one of ABS-CBN’s 2010 shows which were featured at the Kapamilya Trade Launch held in Subic. Melissa said the project is special to her because she will be working with close friends Erich Gonzales and Enchong Dee for the first time. “I’m really excited because this is the first time I’ll be working with Erich and Enchong. Kasi [kapag] magkakasama kami puro kulitan, puro kalokohan. Kaibigan ko sila, kabarkada ko sila. We watch movies, we hang out pero now that we will be working together kailangan medyo serious na ‘di ba? So this is really something to look forward to para sa friendship namin,” Melissa said.
Melissa also added that she thinks Erich is a good actress. “She’s really good, lalo na sa pag-iyak naisip ko nga drama queen itong si Erich.” In a scene from Tanging Yaman where she rips Erich’s dress, Melissa admitted that she was nervous about acting opposite her friend. “At first kinabahan talaga ako sa scene na ‘yun kasi I had to pull Erich’s dress, kailangan ko punitin. E petite lang si Erich, e ako I admit malakas ako kasi malaking babae ako kaya kinabahan talaga ako na baka maging malakas ‘yung force ko baka ma-out-of-balance siya ‘pag hinila ko siya. Pero thank God naman okay naman yung scene. Hindi naman siya nasaktan.” Though the scene she mentioned above portrays an antagonist role, Melissa assures that she will not be a “bad girl” in the entire story. “Hindi naman talaga ko kontrabida dun sa story. It’s just that may mga na-experience ako na situations that led me to that character kaya ako naging ganun sa kanya pero later on magiging mabait din naman ulit ako. Erich will be my friend sa story, ‘yun ang dapat abangan ng mga manonood.”
Tanging Yaman is also her reunion project with Matt Evans. “Yes, I will be working again with Matt and I am excited na may iba na rin akong mga natutunan being partnered with a different actor. Kasi you can’t be partnered with just one actor, you need to work with others aside from your ka-love team, kasi you would be stuck in the same role in the same love team then you will have the same acting ability kasi sanay ka na, e. You need to explore other opportunities para makita mo rin ‘yung versatility mo as an actress. When you work with somebody else siyempre iba yung atake niya, maiiba rin yung atake mo.”
