Enchong Dee faces life with a smile
Ever since he started swimming at the early age of six, Enchong Dee has always enjoyed the discipline that goes with his regular workouts and training as a varsity team member at De La Salle University-Manila. Five times a week, Enchong wakes up before dawn to head to school for training before heading to class. The 20-year old is looking forward to graduating from his studies this July. He also has a list of projects coming up as part of the cast of the upcoming teleserye Ikaw Lamang, which also stars Jericho Rosales and Kristine Hermosa. As one of the cover models for this month’s issue of Chalk magazine, Enchong talks about how he has always kept his life on track. “When I was 13, I had my plans set already. It’s already a routine for me to plan what I’m going to do next year. You’ll go on a better path if you have a plan,” he says in the cover story.
The younger brother of actor AJ Dee also talks about the things that give him inspiration in life. “Family and friends are on top of my list—they are my support system. Knowing they’re always rooting for me makes me happy. I love my job, so projects and endorsements make me smile. Problems also make me smile because they keep me on my toes. I’ve learned from the problems I’ve experienced, and eventually, I’ve become more mature in dealing with these (things),” he shares with Chalk magazine.
As one of the new Coke Smile Ambassadors, Enchong, also makes sure to advocate the power of the smile. “In the morning, I practice it. I smile and everything will change for the rest of the day,” he admits. Still very much single and available, Enchong shares what kind of girl he would be most attracted to, “I like fun people. Comedic girls whom you won’t have any dull moments with. She’ll make me laugh and kung may problema ka, ‘di ka niya sasabayan. A person who is light.” The young heartthrob also shares his idea of a unique and fun date. “(At a) vendors street where we can eat exotic food, like fishballs, but not in the Philippines—I’d like to try doing this in a foreign country,” he shares with Chalk magazine.
